Here, the freaky geeks looking for their automobile-which does, indeed, need finding before their long night of the New Jersey soul is over-are Harold and Kumar, played by standup veterans John Cho and Kal Penn, respectively. If said comedy also appears to be in the same made-you-laugh vein of Dude, Where's My Car?, that shouldn't surprise, since both films were directed by Danny Leiner, whose wisenheimer attitude has also been applied, repeatedly, to TV series such as Freaks and Geeks, The Tick, and The Gilmore Girls. ![]() Such is the rather knife-edged subtext of Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, the They Call Me Mister Tibbs of gross-out teen comedies. Here's something most white people don't seem to realize: a lot of other people feel less than happy when they see you coming. ![]()
